HEU (>= 50%) is also used in fast neutron reactors.

Anyway, the argument "they don't need it" does not sound very
sincere when it comes from those that control the largest stockpile of
nuclear weapons in the world.

If Iran does not need it, nobody needs it.

If the US want to lead, let them lead by example.
