Hi Ward, There is little debate about the time table regarding Iran's development of nuclear fissionable material. The most conservative estimates point to 5 years, while others indicate maybe as many as 10. Error on the side of caution, let's play it safe and estimate that Iran is 4.5 years from developing bomb making material (for the sake of discussion). What we should be asking our most conservative politicians isn't necessarily the time table regarding Iran's Nuclear Weapons Development program, but rather, when Iran will have a moderate democratic government; a government with which we (westerners) can reason, bargain, and trade with. We all know the Persians want all Infidels "dead", and this most certainly includes the Christians (of all flavors), the sons and daughters, and all offspring of all Christians, and the Jews. For those who believe Iran's story about obtaining nuclear power need to ask Iran why they won't accept the very lucrative deals that Russia has placed on the table. Russia has offered to provide them fissionable material (custom made for a power plant in their country) for one eighth of the amount of money it would cost them to develop it themselves. This is a very long term offer by Russia, one which would save the Iranians millions and millions and millions of dollars. For the sake of discussion, can you think of any valid reason why they wouldn't want to accept that deal? (millions and millions and millions of dollars saved that could go to charities, more power plants, gold, virgins, whatever the hell they want). The ONLY reason I can think of is that Iran wants to broaden the process and do their own enrichment which would give them material capable of making nuclear weapons. Of course it pisses them off that the Israeli's have nuclear weapons. They HATE the Jews. I personally know that contrary to what MvD & the Felen would have people believe about our military, 99% of us pray for peace. War sucks, and people die. There is no glory in that. I damn sure don't want to go to war in "Iran" of all places. We all want a peaceful democratic solution. I for one really thought that if the Iranians were sincere, they would have accepted Russia's offer. The fact that didn't indicates they will not stop their development program, and it won't end nicely. >> Research reactors typically use 12 to 20% enriched uranium. research >> reactor are perfectly legit I'd say. > Iran does not have research-reactors hence your complete argumentation > fails. > There is no need for Iran to want to enrich above 5% other than for > military > purposes. North Korea already has enough material for 13 warheads, and they now have a missile pointed at our country and are threading to test it. I don't believe this administration is going to let that lesson repeat itself in Iran.
