subject: CopyRight Ownership Arguement

Hello Roy.

18 Jun 06 08:54, you wrote to me:

MvdV>> So they just woke up one morning and said to themselves "hey
MvdV>> let's see who's account we can cut today.

 RW> Something like that.

Sure, they do that all the time. They love cutting people's accounts.

MvdV>> This Felten seems a good one for today. Snap!"

RW> 'cause he's got all these copyright movies on his system,

Movies? Are you sure there are copyrighted movies on his system? I ask
because I don't see any, so maybe I am missing something.

RW> and HEY, look there, he's also got a complete collection of Playboy
 RW> Centerfold pictures.

Complete? Hardly, the last ten years are missing.

MvdV>> Sure Roy, sure, that is how it happened.

 RW> Not likely...

Indeed not likely. *Very* unlikely I say. Someone put them on the trail. An
you are in the top three on my list of suspects.

RW> but let's put this shoe on your other foot.

RW> Are you advocating that online businesses allow software pirates like
RW> Felten to break the law using the services provided by them, which is
RW> clearly in violation of their 'terms of service' ?

I say it is wrong for anyone or anything to attempt to impose their laws on
the citizens of another country. They should leave the law of other
countries to those in charge of enforcing those laws. If that brings them
in conflict with their own laws they should not accept foreign customers to
begin with.

RW> Before you stuff both feet into your big mouth, keep in mind that
RW> DynDns.org is a US based company doing business within the USA where
RW> such software violations as we've seen on the Felon's website, is
 RW> against the law.

I am aware of that. I am also aware the as it is a free service, the
customer does not have much of a bargaining position.

All that leaves unchanged that we have a snitch in our midst. Or more than one.

Michiel
