subject: Macro from a file?

Howdy All!!
Just wondering if it's possible to create part of a macro by importing a
previously written text? At work, we have just gone from DEC VMS terminals
to Pentium 133's connected to a Windows NT Server. Each PC has Win95 and
WordPerfect 6.1 for Windows loaded (Network version) and are slowly getting
into the new technology. (So why the heck didn't they load WP 7 Suite?!
hehehe).
I have about 30 form letters I would like to "Upgrade" to macros so that I
can jump to and fro around the entry fields. I have played a bit with macro
commands such as "GetString" & "MAcroStatusPrompt" etc and would like to
edit the letters as well as getting some experience with macro programming.
I know I could use Merges but would rather do macros. I think it would be
quicker as I only do one letter at a time and a Macro button on the toolbar
for the most commonly used letters would be so much easier. Merge would
require a bunch of extra keystrokes when selecting the records to print etc.
What I want to do is to import the existing letters in my DEC account (We
use Teamlinks for E-Mail. It hooks into my existing account and allows me to
copy documents into Win95 applications) and then add the various Macro
commands. My initial idea is to pause recording at the appropriate time,
edit the macro with "Type" and simply cut and paste the original sections.
That would be somewhat time consuming however. Is it possible to simply
import the actual file and add the commands?
Looking forward to your thoughts.
Take Care & God Bless!!
Gary
