I would appreciate it if you LEOs out there would post your understanding of 
your state and local laws regulating knives.  IF you can site the code or 
statute, so much the better.
I am the sponsor of the Knives Echomail area on the GT Net and am gathering 
information about knife laws.  I find it amazing that most people, including 
police officers, are not aware of the state and local laws regarding knives.
I post a bulletin listing by state, the maximum legal length of knife blades 
and which knives are illegal.
I also have another question: What is your understanding of how a knife blade 
length is measured in your jurisdiction?
Sounds like a funny question but usually the laws regulating knived mention a 
specific knife blade length as being legal or illegal but rarely does the law 
say how the blade is measure. And it could be critical in the event of 
charges.
