Yeah I know, and in vista it's impossible to find them all. Three weeks and
I'm still disabling stuff.
What ever happened to the idea of a computer that just does what you tell
it to do without having it trying to out guess you or silently go behind
your back and contact other computers or removing/disabling programs you
didn't want touched or updating components you didn't want updated or
modifying firewall rules you didn't want modified or...
All I want is a computer that says "Yes my lord, I exist to serve you
and only you" when I log on. Is that really too much to ask for in a
consumer driven market?
Instead I get a system that tracks my every move, overrides my settings,
polices me, and if I give it any shit it punishes me by refusing to let me
play solitaire locking me out of the controls and forbidding me from
messing with it's communication channels.
It's Windows for children.. I just can't believe Bill Gates or Steve
Ballmer or any of the long time geeks at ms would take this kind of abuse
from a computer. Do they not run their own OS anymore?
Geo.
