Band of Brothers is a great and inspirational series. I loved it also.
Major Winters method of assaulting the German artillery positions firing on
the beaches is still taught today in the military academies as an example
of how to mount an infantry assault on a fixed position.
Its hard to imagine such courage and bravery (while being scared to death).
These men and those like them from all over the world were truly one of
our greatest generations. Not just for their war effort, but for what they
did to build the world after WWII.
