Hi! Richard, On 27 Nov 07 13:20, you wrote to me: PQ>>> You'll also need a copy of "Replace.Com" by Gene Garapic, back [ ...trimmed... ] PQ>> Actually I might speak with Ben Richey about that. (I've fixed it above.) I had a look at the original post and the archive I kept that the posting produced, and found that it's a LHA (.lzh) type. Bummer. Not too many people still have LHA lying around. (So, I've created a ZIP of it and will send a copy to Ben though I have to concoct a File_ID.Diz for it first, which will take a little time.) I'll send you a copy of the ZIP in email (got your address from another echo). Just rename the attachment back to .zip. Let me know if there are any other of those tools you may need. Okay? Booting is fine; everything starts from the 'startup group' (folder, to some). Did you mean shutdown? It's a manual thing, and goes smoothly. I have Windows configured to shutdown to DOS and then I have a re-boot BATch file that kicks-in and uses an old multi-config tool (DynaBoot) to do a software cold boot; with most of my machines I had them set up to offer a multi-boot after any particular session, and then (after DOS 6.xx came out) the machines also a multi-boot option on power-up. :) It's one of my two best Win98SE PCs (this one and that one). RUnning memory management so isn't raelly an issue. I love semaphores. I can 'drive' (and monitor) my Radius POTS/IP mailer on Win98 using semaphores generated by some scripts I wrote in linux. (The mailer PC is downstairs, under the house BTW. Imagine a 'high set', Florida style, house.) They pretty much mirror what I did with batch files that do the same thing. PQ>> I can't recall seeing anyone ask before. :) RW> I think I might have mentioned this in this echo back in '95 or '96. I was still in newbie, freshly-hatched node, in those days. I had a lot of learning to do then. :) Cheers, Paul. ... If...
