HOlger, You mentioned being in the Signal Corps in a message in the WIN95 echo. After I left Navy Radioman School and got to my Duty Assignment, the Petty Officers had a CW Class for all the new guys in the outfit. One thing that still sticks in my head is the way the Navy uses Q Signals. The Navy way to send an Inquiry is INT Qxx Where Amateur Radio Operators and Commercial Telegraphers use Qxx? . It just didn't make sense to me because IIRC I remember reading that at the beginning of WWII the U.S.Navy asked for the Hams to help them to create CW Operating Procedures for the Navy. When you were in the Army were Q Signal sent with a Question Mark after the Q Signal? Thanks~ ...
