Tom finally mowed it while I weeded the rose bed.  What a 
great big mess that was.  Rose thorns I can avoid.  But
buried in the dry grass in that bed (I left it there last
fall for mulching purposes!) were several new thistles
and I got stuck after all.  OUCH!
The yard is still looking pretty bad.  I have a big jug of
Round-up and will be spraying some weeds this afternoon if
I get this mail packet done first.
