subject: WD-40 alterantive?

-> (If my ageing memory doesn't fail me again 8-( I seem
-> to recall you were not a advocate of the use of WD-40
-> petroleum distillant to over come rotory moter shafts
-> whose lubricate had aged and now tended to seize the
-> shafts in their support bushings.

-> What altenative do you find more successfull please?

In the old days I used "Sewing Machine Oil". It is a very light
"REAL"
lubricant.
The problem is that it is difficult to impossable to get rid of the old
hardened gunk in the bearing. Particualrly if it is a Sleeve bearing.
