-> When I converted to the "PL 255" from the "F" connector, I seem to have lost -> about half my signal strength. Is this indeed the cause, or am I just -> contending with the overabundance of maple leaves that appeared with spring. -> Will BNC connections be any better? How much risk do I run of damaging the -> transmitter if I return to using 75 ohm connectors? I can understand that. UHF connectors despite their name are Lousy at higher frequencies. The 75 Ohm "TV" type cponnector as you saw would be better. You will still be loosing some power(reflected back to the transmitter) becasue of the Impedence Mismatch but as you have proved not as much as using the PL fitting. The mismatch damage is a prolbem with higher powered transmitters. I highly doubt a 802.11 transmitter would be hurt. --- Platinum Xpress/Win/WINServer v3.0pr5* Origin: Shakey Jake's *ALL FREE BBS* Santee, CA (1:202/1324) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 202/1324 10/3 106/2000 633/267 |
