       One possible source is Aluminum Sulphate, used to neutralize or 
acidify sweet soils.  However, I'm rather skeptical that ordinary amounts of 
aluminum could cause any problems.
       Soils to avoid are the left-overs from houseplants that have been 
watered for years, as they contain high levels of soluble calcium, magnesium, 
and sodium in carbonate and bicarbonate form.  Some plants do not tolerate 
those very well.
