MB> It's looking like we are going to have to postpone it, as much as I
MB> hate to do so. We are going to have to be creative to come up with a
MB> theme for the September campout as a replacement. Maybe a practice
MB> orienteering one in preparation for the Camporee in October. Jordan
MB> and Justin are pretty good at compass and map reading (lots of
MB> practice at Philmont), and could bring the other boys up to speed.
MB> The Scouts had scheduled a couple troop meetings as instruction
MB> periods for the younger Scouts to get up to speed.
The way my schedule has been here lately, I am going to miss my troop
campout because civil war reenactment, work on weekends, dove season
opens on labor day, and the Hunter Education Instructor class in
September, boy I need a vacation. By chance if yall are camping down
in Grandbury, do yall mind if I come down and visit yall on Saterday at
camp? Do yall still need a second leader to camp with yall on Friday or
Saturday nite? Let me know and I can be there.
MB> I have a couple younger scouts that need to cook for advancements.
MB> One needs to assist. We can work something out.
Well, your guys are good cooks. I like to see what they come up with.
I finally got they trailer done except finishing doing one of the
springs. I am thinking of making a bracket to hold it togather, I don't
know much about doing springs and dont really know if I really want to
tackle it but I really don't want to go to a spring repair shop either.
After all this work, I can take it camping again. You got to come by
and see it. I am thinking since I painted it, I am going to get my
scouts to paint flames on the sides. Can you imagion going on a scout
outing with this trailer with flames on it? Hey, who is that nut of a
leader with a hot rod trailor? 8->>
On to other news, I will have to start missing the roundtables now till
December. My business course starts on the 25th. I am not excited, but
the college is paying for the course and boss said that I may get over
time just for being there past the end of the day.
