Hopefully the other idea will work. Yahoo will let you use a java
version of the instant messnenger as long as you have Java setup.
Sorry, I should have said what pmvnc was, it has had a bit of exposure
lately so I didn't think about your not having known about it. VNC is a
piece of software that will allow control of one pc from another. There
has been a client for OS/2 for sometime now but only recently has there
been the server piece. If you installed pmvnc, launched it, and
connected to it with a client from another pc, or gave the ip address
and password to someone else and they did, the pc could be controlled
remotely. Basically, if you were to setup a time with someone and gave
them your ip and the password they could remote to your machine and
control it and so what is being suggested here. You could watch and
then between what has been written and what you see being done tie the
pieces together. I use a similar feature that Tivoli has at work to
correct problems that people have. On your side it would require you to
install the program, launch it, you should be prompted to set the
password as I recall, get your ip address and send it and the password
to someone. Not as hard really as it may sound. At work I have voice
communication with the user I am helping generally but if an instant
messenger or even writing information in an e.exe screen can pass
information back and forth. It can be a bit slow but is quite handy.
But, I have to go to sleep now as I can barely write this right now.
