The authorities really don't know. It has been suggested that it was
drug related. It was suggested, as stated on the show by one of the
former bird facility's employees, that the owner Moses was into some
organized crime bosses for lots of money.  I know someone that really
was Moses' best friend. This person talked to Moses the night he
disappeared. This person said that Moses was waiting for someone to come
over and expected trouble. And apparently he got trouble. We'll probably
never know for sure. I doubt that they'll ever find the missing people.
Their probably fertilizer by now, unfortunately. I don't know about
Moses, but I heard that the lady that went missing was very kind to the
birds an animals there.
This was a horrible thing that went on there.
I was involved here in the Jacksonville, Fl area with getting donations
for the birds. FFAS, Fla Federation of Avian Societies, which is
Florida's bird club's club. FFAS went down to help out. I think AFA did
too. I had talked to Howard Voren about the birds down there. I never
really realized that it was videotaped. I should have thought about it
because anytime Fl Fish and Game is called in on a case like this they
take pictures or videotape it. I just about cried when I saw the tape of
the dead and dying birds. It was awful.
