Hi Robin!
-=> Quoting Robin Payton to Wendy Buchanan <=-
RP> I think that would be my decision, too. I have been fortunate to
RP> not find out about my allergies in that manner.
It would never have gotten to that point if my first husband
hadn't been such a jerk. He was convinced I was being a
hypochondriac like my mother, and paid no attention when I
started wheezing and gasping for breath and asked him to take
me to the emergency room.
I didn't know what was causing it, but I knew it was some
sort of anaphylactic reaction to an allergen, but he was
sure I was faking and thought he was the expert on everything.
When I collapsed on the floor the hostess called an ambulance
or I'd be dead. She had to call the police to hold ol' hubby
back so they could take me to the hospital. He was still
saying "She's faking, I know she's not sick" even though I
wasn't breathing and my heart had stopped beating. CREEP!
Boy I'm sure glad I don't have to put up with *that* any more!

 RP> Yes, thank you!
You're welcome. Hope it was something you could use. I
thought they were cute!

RP> Our local library sells outdated magazines for 10 cents each.
That's a neat idea. Our library doesn't even carry any
crafting mags at all, and their selection of crafting books
is so outdated...most people here can afford to buy or sub-
scribe to whatever they want, and they don't care about the
rest of us "common folk."
RP> Also, did you know that you can ask for receipts for library
RP> donations, to add to your taxes? I've only done this once, with one
RP> rather expensive book ($50 comprehensive Shakespeare - my hometown
RP> library had practically no Shakespeare!). But, it helps both the giver
RP> and the receiver. You set the value according to what you think the
RP> book (or magazine?) is worth.
Yes, we have given libraries books in the past. Now I don't
know, they don't seem to appreciate that here but they ought
to. The old library roof leaked so they built a new library,
and got rid of so many old books. Most of my favorite old
friends are now gone. I was shocked, but they said there was
water damage and mold spores in many of them, and so many of
the old ones are out of print.
They sure could use some crafting books though! I have a few
I don't use which I've thought of donating whether they feel a
need for them or not. I should...maybe someone could get some
use out of them, and I could be getting them off my hands.
LadyBear Hugs,
Wendy
