RT> According to Pacific Bell representatives, (mid-1991) ...
The term ISDN (Integrated Service Digital Network) was created by
the world's telecommunications standards group, the Consultative
Committee for International Telephony and Telegraphy (CCITT) in
1973. (Eight years prior to the first IBM/PC). The general scope
was specified in 1980, and then formally defined by CCITT in 1986.
That means for an entire decade we've been watching as ISDN begins
the process of digitizing the world's telecommunications -- and all
MOdulate/DEModulate equipment gradually slide into obsolescence.
Any MO/DEM equipment purchased today may indeed be "the last you'll
ever need to buy".
