When I rang last year concerning warranty stuff, thats what they told me. For the simple reason that because of the privatisation (this is my guess) that they can't enforce people to use anything that is austel approved, but as the person on the phone said, if someone doesn't use Austel approved units then the warranty or repair to the line will not be covered this means that if your phone is either struck by lightning or your phone line developes problems you will not get insurance cover.... And the phone company is obliged to charge you for the repairs to the line, thats what they told me.... But also this was 12 months ago as well. Andrew Scott ... I tried an internal modem, but it hurt when I walked. --- Spot 1.3a #453* Origin: ASConfig (Transcfg GUI Interface) Development (3:632/271.6{at}FidoNet) SEEN-BY: 50/99 620/243 623/630 624/300 632/0 107 271 304 320 325 326 329 348 SEEN-BY: 632/454 502 503 506 516 525 527 530 552 998 999 1000 633/371 SEEN-BY: 634/384 391 397 635/301 502 503 544 553 636/100 637/103 638/100 SEEN-BY: 639/100 711/409 410 413 430 510 807 808 809 816 933 934 712/515 SEEN-BY: 713/888 714/906 800/1 7877/2809 @PATH: 2271/6 632/271 998 635/503 50/99 711/808 809 934 |
