Running a 28.8 modem using a DOS based comm program under Windows will
most likely get you crc errors.   Try running Telemate under straight
DOS and see how it goes.  And you answered your own question, a Windows
comm program doesn't have any problems.  You were lucky getting by with
a 14.4 modem.  You've doubled the speed and are pushing the phone lines
to the extreme limit.  Also, there is now a Telemate for Windows.
Suggest you get that and it should fix your problem.
