There are several languages available on OS/2 besides C/C++ compilers.
Check out other programming languages on OS/2:

REXX - comes with OS/2, plus several other REXX packages.
Smalltalk - there are several packages.
PLI - IBM has one, not sure of others.
COBOL - several packages.

Of course there are other languages on OS/2, too.  Try checking some
of the magazines for OS/2 and software catalogs from mail-order
companies.
