-> Been there! Doesn't compare. I've spent many weeks in North Dakota
-> where
-> it's the same way, I just about DIE when it hits 90 degrees there with
their
-> 90-100% humidity. I see lots more air conditioning there than I saw there
-> as a child...no, I don't just notice it more now, the homes that were
-> uncomfortable to visit in years ago are now just like Phoenix!
->
Well I know that a lot more houses are air conditioned around here than were
when i was a kid too. I think it is more in the lines of the systems
ecoming
cheaper (relatively that is) than anything else. I don't remember any of my
friends having AC when I was young. Now everyone does. I don't think Our
weather has changed that much.
-> Generally, people aren't bothered by it. Not like all the people who
-> freeze to death in New York. They go from their air-conditioned house in
-> their air-conditioned car to their air-conditioned office and back home
-> again. When the sun goes down it cools down about 30 degrees or more here
in
-> the desert.
I don't know of anyone freezing to death here. I guess that is what is
perceived though from other parts of the country. NY is the same as AZ in
your
statement above just replace "Air-Conditioned" with "Heated" and your in NY
for
the winter!
-> My mom lives about 90 miles north of here, where the temperature is 10
to
-> 20 degrees cooler. As a native North Dakotan, she likesthat just fine!
Now that I might be able to survive in.
