NB>> Glass coverage is part of the comprehensive, not the collision, so it
BS> Sorry, I don't speak insurance, even tho (like taxes) it's a
BS> subdialect of finance. I was a simple computer geek, Connie was the
BS> bean counter. Now I mainly, point, grunt, and say how much.
Seems to me that you might ought to learn at least a little insurance
speak as well as a general understanding of taxes.... save you a bundle,
probably... :) Here, we both deal with insurance (pretty much as a
team), and I do the taxes, but he checks my work, mostly the math...
Hopefully if I go first, he'll be able to take over the taxes without
too much angst.... ;)
BS> I used to ask her first since she controlled the purse strings, but
BS> she was susceptible to bribes. Fer instance I got sent to Korea and
BS> came back with a set of kingsize red silk sheets to go on the
BS> waterbed...that got me the 486 I'd been lusting for, OK there were
BS> other reciprocal benefits.
I'd imagine so.. ;)
NB>> May the bureaucratic Gordian knot be untangled for you soonest....!
BS> Ha! I waited until today. Since the impound people haven't heard a
BS> word I made a call to the voice mail of the guy who has to say release
BS> it, he's off until Friday naturally. But at least I'm not being
BS> charged a storage fee since it's, or was, evidence.
Hopefully by now you've had a bit of satisfaction there.... I'm so far
behind..... ;)
BS> That's one of the
BS> things the Insurance Claim Representitive is worried about, the other
BS> thing she has a passing interest in is the condition of the car. The
BS> first time it was stolen, back in February, when I got it back it was
BS> in better shape than when I'd left, washed/vacuumed/windows etcetera.
I suppose that was a bonus.... ;)
BS> It'd be nice to have it back, I know a guy who might buy it, although
BS> his grandmothers ears perked up when I said it was forsale and you know
BS> every granny needs a 2006 Ford Focus ZX4 SES, Connie's somewhat zippy
BS> little car. But then again Connie and I used to refer to her as "Maria
BS> Andretti" when she consistently did a 4 wheel drift (Dodge Caravan) on
BS> the gravel turning onto the road to her place.
That's the granny you are talking about being Maria Andretti...? Or
Connie.... Certainly wouldn't put it past a grandmother to want a
sporty little car, though... ;)
BS> While he's ridden in it
BS> (down to Kasilof and back, 370 miles) it wasn't forsale at the time so
BS> why would he pay much attention. Did that trip again yesterday in the
BS> Sebring to shutdown the place, summers over. During a normal summer
BS> it's a weekly trip, just not in one day.
Have you recovered yet...? (G) I'm looking at a fairly hefty trip next
month... haven't figured out the mileage yet, but first leg is about 9
hours from what I see, then a couple of maybe 2 1/2 hour trips, then
that 9 hours home again... Rochester NY to Portland ME, then to
Merrimack NH and back to Portland... then back home... leaving on a
Saturday, the NH trip is Monday/Tuesday, looks like I'll wait till the
Thursday to come home.... I'm staying with a good friend in Portland...
