If you're talking about the same app ass Ed Durrant, it allows me to 
enable/disable audio, and choose IRQ, DMA etc. under 'Advanced' options.
Anyway it reports that audio is 'enabled' even when the crystal driver 
does not load (I guess it actually means that I haven't 'disabled' it, 
not that it's actually working).

I don't have a working Windows in that box anymore. However, sound 
worked under windows from the very beginning (never had to resolve IRQ 
conflicts whatsoever). I'll end up installing w98 again eventually though.
