Yoo Hoo... Kit!
KB> I guess I don't understand what gives YOU the right to make a huge profit
KB> over someone else's copyrighted works. The video stores are authorized
KB> distributors - you aren't. Also, I think the reason people say the
KB> video-scalpers aren't real Disney fans is that the prices people like you
KB> set keeps these films AWAY from the masses. The average family struggling
KB> to make ends meet simply can't afford to pay $150 for "The Little
Mermaid".
You know, these people never enjoy their acquisitions -- they are possessions
to be held for investment and seldom lose their shrink-wrap.
I, on the other hand, could not wait to rip off the shrink-wrap and use the
product in the manner for which it was intended. I think Walt would rather we
ALL rip off the shrink-wrap and enjoy the contents rather than speculate on
dollars and cents.
I don't care HOW "vintage" or "valuable" the item is -- to me it is utterly
worthless if you can't enjoy it in the manner it was created. This applies to
films, books, comic books, recordings, and so on. Otherwise, it is all just
bits of plastic, paper, and cardboard -- falsely manipulated into a false
value. I much prefer the value of enjoying a great Disney film or reading a
wonderful book or listening to an incredible recording. FEH on never opening
and enjoying these items -- and FEH on people who gouge others who want to
enjoy the contents of something the gougers have manipulated into "rarity" &
an expensive sticker price...
