BG> Agreed (and just proved), but why? If, for some obscure reason, I wish to
BG> use 01 in a message, I certainly don't want Msged arbitrarily altering it
BG> for me. I'm not sure that earlier versions did an automatic translation
BG> either.
BL> It is Paul's contention that '01 is an illegal character. MsgEd
BL> translates it to {at}, but that does not make it illegal. I'll do the
BL> same in my version of the packet reader, and translate '00 as well,
BL> plus Tear lines, Origin lines and SEENBY's, but it's a metter of
BL> choice.
BG> Damn right, too. There are 256 characters available, and I want to be able
BG> to use ALL of them, not just those which somebody else reckons is OK.
Do not send 0x00 or 0x01 via my system unless the 0x01 are used
as documented kludge lines, that conform to the specs that
introduced them. BFN. Paul.
