I've been saying that the AV/AM industry has been a crock of #### for
years.
But Macro$haft *needs* there to be such an industry, because AV/AM
software goes hand-in-hand with owning / using any NT-based version of
Windoze. If viability of the AV/AM industry was truely market-based, ie
based on the actual effectiveness at detecting so-called "zero-day" (a
bull#### term) malware and polymorphic infectors, then the industry
would have ceased to become viable 10 years ago. But media and tech
writers have successfully convinced the sheeple (and corporate IT
departments) that AV software is necessary and effective and so this
farce of an industry continues to exist, and continues to give cover to
Macro$haft's incredibly over-bloated, over-managed, over-complicated,
incredibly vulnerable NT-based line of Windoze.
So I'll just continue to run Windoze 98se (with Kex API helper) and
browse any site, handle any file with complete immunity while I laugh at
people struggling with infected XP, 7,8, 9 (oops - 10) NT-based versions
of Windoze.
Windoze 2K/XP/7/8/10: Like the emperor's new clothes - made from the
finest, most expensive code.
Windoze 2K/XP/7/8/10: How do you want to be infected today?
Windoze 2K/XP/7/8/10: The vulnerabilities go in before the name goes
on.
Micro$haft's motto: If it works, it's not complicated enough.
