Been there! Doesn't compare. I've spent many weeks in North Dakota
where it's the same way, I just about DIE when it hits 90 degrees there with
their 90-100% humidity. I see lots more air conditioning there than I saw
there as a child...no, I don't just notice it more now, the homes that were
uncomfortable to visit in years ago are now just like Phoenix!
Generally, people aren't bothered by it. Not like all the people who
freeze to death in New York. They go from their air-conditioned house in
their air-conditioned car to their air-conditioned office and back home
again. When the sun goes down it cools down about 30 degrees or more here in
the desert.
My mom lives about 90 miles north of here, where the temperature is 10
to 20 degrees cooler. As a native North Dakotan, she likesthat just fine!
