RON MCDERMOTT spoke of Research And More... 1/ to DAN TRIPLETT on 12-14-
96
RM>RM>The methodology can be neither qualitative nor
RM>RM>quantitative, only the data and conclusions can be...
RM>DT>Yeah....Im trying to get this straight in my head.......
RM>DT>Sometimes have to think so much it hurts.....
RM>My students sometimes say the same thing! ;-)
My favorite quote is from a Winnie The Pooh "FrankenPooh" (hey wadda
spect from a kindergarten tchr)
Tigger, who has just been complemented by Pooh for using his head to get
out of a scary situation, Tigger: "Hey wadaya know, I used my head and
it didn't even hurt!" I like that Tigger.
RM>DT>Because I said so......(I hated hearing that when I was a
RM>kid.....)
RM>Heh.... It's nice to "see" you operating in such a good
RM>mood; you're obviously not one of those who gets depressed
RM>during this season.....
I have my days....mostly I get tired from all the excitement I have to
deal with during the holidays...but it is a fun time of year in early
childhood (if you can stand the noise) :)
RM>DT>I think it is silly because it is such an extreme example.
RM>Taking a train of thought and extending it to an absurdity or
RM>contradiction is a time-honored process known as a negative
RM>proof.... ;-)
Yes but....you've got to "accent" the positive...."eliminate" the
negative...(I forget the rest of the song)
RM>DT>There must be a logical fallacy to your argument but I can't think
RM>DT>of what it could be offhand. Hey I know....it's the Quantum Leap
RM>DT>fallacy....
RM>Nice try! ;-)
That's what my friend said when I fell down my first time skiing.
Trouble was...I was standing in line waiting for the lift!
Take Care,
Dan
