I'd be curious to know how long a NO internet connection available will start ERF.

It could be, that if SOME internet connectivity is available, the ERF time
is shorter, than if NONE is available. NONE would allow for traveling
people, who never re-connect to the internet with a specific laptop, to
keep their machines going.

What about those computers that are used for very specific usage, that
NEVER touch the internet?

There are audio people who use various Audio Workstations, that
intentionally NEVER connect to the internet, to preclude any possible
malware infections. They are total standalone boxes. Some, not even
working on a local LAN, just use removable storage (USB/Firewire storage
devices).

In a Vista world, once authenticated on install, how long before their
computers move into ERF mode? (Serious question).
