Thanx for the tips on low pressure steam Alec. But whether steam
or air, we still got the problem of making a piston with a big
enough cross section to do anything useful...
Spoze you could do a leather diaphram a foot across to get the big
area you'd need? At 15 PSI, that's 1500 lb or so on maybe a short
two inch stroke, 250 ft/lb per stroke. howze leather react to steam?
