From: Gary Britt If this process were sending information to the Primo people I wouldn't like that. If they were sending some kind of usage information that might include document content or other unique or even generic tracking info I wouldn't like that, but to just check for updates that I don't mind. Although I agree that most programs ask and should ask for permission to automatically check for updates. Except for Adobe Reader I can't think of a program I use where I have told it not to check for updates. Oh except windows of course. I keep automatic updates service disabled and wait for a week or so after any updates come out to make sure Microsoft hasn't secretly put some off switch or other BS in one of the updates and to make sure the updates aren't known to break something.
