| subject: | Warp 2 no longer accepts long file name DLL`s |
Frank Andress called me today to state that the behavior I have observed regarding Warp 2 no longer accepting long file name DLL's is not a bug but is in fact a fix to a bug. Apparently previous versions of OS/2 would accept long names but would only check the first 8 characters of the DLL name. Thus if two DLL's had names with the identical first 8 characters but different characters after the first 8, there would be problems. The fix results in names longer than 8 characters (plus the DLL suffix) no longer being accepted. --- Maximus/2 2.01wb* Origin: OS/2 Connection {at} Mira Mesa, CA (1:202/354) SEEN-BY: 12/2442 54/54 620/243 624/50 632/348 640/820 690/660 711/409 410 413 SEEN-BY: 711/430 807 808 809 934 942 712/353 623 713/888 800/1 @PATH: 202/354 301 1 3615/50 229/2 12/2442 711/409 54/54 711/808 809 934 |
