Hardly a story in the accepted sense of a work of fiction. It is a story in
the sense of a report of the known facts concerning the matter in question.
3Com and Lucent have already announced that they will be doing
interoperablity testing. 2 weeks after that story, Rockwell is still not
committed to interop testing even with Lucent, their partner in the 56K
rum.
As for V.90 being riddled with possible incompatiblities, there are fuzzy
areas in most ITU-T recommendations. For the most part, those are centred
around those features whose implementation is not mandatory. An area where
Rockwell has distinguished themselves in past by implementation oddities.
So once again Richard, are you denying that a Rockwell's vice president is on
record as stating that Rockwell has no plans for interop testing? A
statement that was made more than a week after 3Com and Lucent announced that
they would be doing interop testing? Or are you denying the report that 3Com
and Lucent will be doing interop testing with their products?
If you have a source for your belief that those reports are incorrect (other
than your simple child-like faith that Rockwell can do no wrong), please post
that source. Either a quote or a url will do.
Regards,
David
