G'day Denis!
DR> Any of you guys, ever thought of doing an Amiga-PC review. How about
DR> getting the Amiga and PC together and discussing the differences. It
DR> seems a shame that people are out to kill the Amiga when so many good
DR> things could transfer across to the PC and vice versa. Don't you agree?
DR> (Kill Microsoft and Bll Gates) Don't you just hate him?.
Yes. There are heaps of good things about the Amiga over the IBM.
I am not the person to do what you suggest. I don't have enough knowledge.
If Amiga Review couldn't do it, why could anyone else?
One of the main things I believe stopped the Amiga was programs {games or
otherwise} were written to work on a Amiga with a 'Standard' memory. With
the A500 all programs were written to work with 1 meg of ram. Then with
the A1200 it was 2 megabytes. Flight Simulators are the perfect example.
Two Flight Sim's on the Amiga I have are A320 Airbus {Europe and USA}.
Written to work on the 1 meg A500. On the IBM There is now FS5. It uses 8
- 10 Megs of RAM but look at the HUGE difference!.
The Amount of detail that has been put into FS5. Then the add ons for it. I
received a newsletter today with scenery for Australia in it.
If programmers had of made programs requiring more memory they would have
been much better.
DR> So how about it?. The coast has like about 5 Pc BBS and that number is
DR> shrinking and 1 Amiga bbs. Is'nt that Woefull?.
Yes.
DR> Come guys lets get together and make something happen here. You can't
DR> let people like Bill Gates and Commodore ruin the computer scene.
Well with the prices of the Amigas at the moment people are not going to
change from an IBM. An A4000/040 is about $4799.00 now. You could buy a
Pentium 166 for that and it would be much better as far as speed and
software goes. With that you would also get a CD-Rom, modem etc basically
all ready t connect to the Internet. The A4000, hard drive plus some
software is all you get. =(
Type to you later,
From Anthony.
... Let not the sands of time get in your lunch.
