Replying to a message from Tom Walker 1:202/1324 to Thurston Ackerman, About is the Tech echo alive?, On Sun Sep 12 2004 TW> Well the new MAC OS has those two beat by a mile if you Discount MAC OSX is indeed very good but the applications for same are lagging a bit. A friend of mine Works predominantly with Macs in an educational environment and has nightmares thinking about how to get OS X to do the same things Os9 did with ease. My Performa has OS9.1 and works very well. I am just too lazy to seek out Fido stuff for it or I would probably go straight Mac. If I had my computing stuff to start over again I would go MAC and Laptops or Notebooks instead of Desktops and Towers. might even go to standard (IBM) compatible Laptops as well. Hope this helps. Keep us posted. We are a fine board trying to make it better. http://www.pris.bc.ca/ghannah ghannah{at}pris.bc.ca Cheers!
