Comparing to those fairly expensive SCSI drives of the ages gone by, I'd
say SCSI had already given the mid-lower end SCSI a very good run for
the money.


With the insane desire for increase capacity, the density also
increases, when density increases, the amount of data flaying past the
Read/Write head per second also increases. Which the old DDRS can barely
make 20MB/s, while IDE HDD today easily does 50MB/s. If you are REALLY
worried about reliability, buy two plus a mirror system that does RAID 1
for you. This will make sure it will be damned reliable, and still be a
lot cheaper than SCSI of similar capacity. Way cheaper...

I'm starting to think that, SATA array with SAS controller is gonna make
life difficult for those SCSI and SAS drive manufacturing departments of
all those drive makers.
