How is the rise of the Religious Right in the United States related to 
environmental problems and questions?
 
Population is one element.  There are those who oppose nearly all forms of 
contraception.  At the World Population Conference there were religious 
groups actively attempting to interfere with population control.
 
Destruction of the environment is another.  A significant element in the 
Religious Right (allied with the Republican Party) would allow big business 
to run rampant over conservation of the environment.
 
These are reasons for environmentalists to be concerned about the political 
efforts of the Religious Right.  Of course, if you are concerned about loss 
of religious freedom and a host of other issues, you will also be alert to 
the machinations of the Religious Right.
