Howdy Brian,
I do not know to much about the Grove di-pole you are talking
about? I assume you mean Groves "Skywire"??? This antenna should work
just fine for you! I know that once you put up this new antenna if you
put it up outside and connect it with coax cable to your Sony rig you
should be in Heaven! I am not sure which of AEA's antennas you are
referring to because they make several kinds.
You do not need an expensive dipole! You simply can make one
yourself for about $5 to $10 or so and it will work just GREAT!
Basically any "outdoor" long wire antenna that is about 70 feet or so
long will work just great for you!!! It can be a dipole or just a
straight long wire antenna! You will want to get at least one end of it
up in the air as high as possible! To a nearby Tree or the top of your
roof etc. The higher you get it off of the ground the better it will
work!
If you still want a stronger signal you might consider an antenna
tuner with or without an amplifier! I use an MFJ 104B Deluxe RF
Preselector II and really like it a bunch!
73's de Reid,
... This tagline is made just for Brian Johnson
