Can't you draw in modelspace (tilemode normal I think 1). Make different 
layers view1, view2, viewetc. In those layers you put the entities that you 
want to make visible in the different viewports. Than create a new drawing 
with tilemode 0, now you're in paperspace, make the different viewports, go 
to modelspace and set the layers per view frozen if they have to be 
invisible. Than you don't have to change from MS to PS and back for zooming.
