Speaking of patches.  Today I needed to download and install .NET 1.1 for
NASA's WorldWind.  I went to Windows Update, checked the box, and it
installed.


Fortunately, a couple of hours later, I happened to go to Windows Update
once again to get the driver for my Dell LCD monitor (I had seen it as
being available when I got .NET).

Good thing I did, there was a service pack available for the version of
.NET I just downloaded.

Why can't Microsoft combine the service pack into the original download?
