Yeah they tend to be more trustworthy and reliable than most.
You could always get a Parrot as they live as long as we do.

No way, it's been a real horror taking proper care of him with
my mobility limitations. I've managed it but at considerable coost
to my own personal desires.
He's given fair value on effort expended however!

What are you going to do?
The animal earned every bit of my trust and loyalty so giving him
away was not an option.

 CA> I think it

 I know me.
I'd be comparing the new animal to Spanky and expecting him to
live up to the exemplary example he set, it would be unfair to the
new animal and painful for me to be reminded.

Perhaps one day they'll splice in some Parrot genes into canines
and we'll have a lifelong talking canine companion ;-)

Hey this just happened.
Pure bred Pit came with the girlfriend.
Girlfriend took to smoking crack.
Threw out the vicious one and kept the Pit Bull

Well spanky at 14 is going strong and he's not even neutered, just lucky
 I guess.

CA> btw: How are you getting along with your live Linux CD lately?

It valued, resides near at hand however unfortunately the Pentium is
currently down so I'm on a DOS - Win 3.1 1993 486 :-(

The hard drive's boot sector failed and the drive is no longer
recognised.

I could use Knoppix in ramdrive mode but prefer the alternative.
So I'm saving for a high capacity hard drive and BIOS'ed
Belkins I/O card to overcome the machines built in 32 Gig hard
drive limitation.
Not certain if I'll purchase them both this coming month or next.

Oh yeah the PCI I/O card will also upgrade me from
ATA66 to UltraATA133 as well.
CompUSA has a Maxtor 20 Gig drive in stock locally and I could
install it without the new card but not gain the data transfer
speed advantage.

Once I install those parts I believe I'll leave the Windows
O.S. entirely.
Fortunately I saved my work on installing Ztelnet and OLR
to floppy so I need not start from scratch and merely need
overcome the few error messages I was receiving when I
invoked them.

Actually I only had two errors in Ztelnet as the OLR
was only complaining that I hadn't as yet edited the proper
file as to where to place uploaded .REP messages
and downloaded QWK packets.

All I'll have to do is mount /dev/fd0 /mnt
and unzip it back to where I had it before and knock out the remaining
errors.

Take it easy on yourself Charles, I know it's hard as I'm the same
way.
Feeling better this last week I immediately overextended myself and
hit the wall on the stamina that I no longer have due to
my chronic condition.

Still feeling better though, just a lot more tired than I'd like.
