If you truly want to remove OS/2 from your system the answer depends on how ¨you set it up to begin with. If you setup with HPFS, the only answer is ¨backup any files you want to keep and FDISK delete the partition, create a ¨new partition, reformated the drive with whatever operating system you want ¨to use and restore the files you backed up. If you set it up under FAT, ¨and for dual boot, then enter BOOT /DOS once the system restarts, delete ¨C:\OS2 and everything inside that directory including subdirectories and ¨you're pretty much done. If you didn't setup for dual boot, it's more ¨complicated. First, remove the hidden, system and read only attributes from ¨all files in the root directory, delete the kernel, wp root.sf etc files. ¨Delete and remove the Desktop directory and it's subdirectories, delete and ¨remove the \OS2 directory and all files and subdirectories inside it. ¨Delete the PSFONTS directory and remove it then, boot up with DOS and SYS C: copy command.com to C:\ and either create a DOS directory and copy the dos ¨files into it or simply install DOS to the drive if you have a complete set ¨of DOS installation disks. This all done, you're finished. Robert --- Simplex/2 BBS (v1.07.00Beta [OS/2])* Origin: Cyberdyne Systems BBS.
