Your experience isn't very wide then, Jason... :)  Alas that I can't speak 
for FD specifically, but I do know that using Binkleyterm 2.60 as a front end 
for Maximus works wonderfully; in fact, there is a verb in the Bink config 
file expressly for using WinFossil under Win95.
I'm sorry that I can't help about FD, but I can certainly testify that the 
Bink/Max combination works very very well under Win95.  I know everyone falls 
in love with a specific mailer or bbs, but perhaps you should consider 
changing?  The only other combo I've heard of that runs reliably is PX & 
Wildcat! 5.  Oops, almost forgot Bink, Binkshim, and Wildcat! 5... :)
