subject: NAMED PIPE - NEED HELP

JS>Howdy, All!

JS>I am desparately in need of some REXX code that monitors the data coming in
JS>on
JS>a named-pipe and dispatches procedures/functions when certain textual
JS>strings are seen. The REXX tutorial provides nothing about named pipes and
JS>I can't seem to find any info anywhere on how to access these. Sample .CMD
JS>files would be most appreciated. Post 'em here or route 'em netmail to the
JS>address below. Mucho thanks!

JS>Hangin' in, Hangin' out, and Hangin' on...

Try opening the pipe just like a file.
Use the name of the pipe in place of the file name.
I haven't tried this from REXX, but under C you can use the normal open
commands to open a pipe, you just don't get a lot of control over finer details
