The BIOS has 4 lines for primary master slave, secondary master slave. Each
line has a list with the options of "none, auto, user type HDD, other ATAPI,
CD-ROM, , MO, LS-120, ZIP-100". On "auto" the BIOS says
scanning for device, up
till now this always results in the result of "none" being displayed. If I
select "user HDD" I can then get a screen of options where I can choose
translation mode, PIO mode, Ultra-DMA mode, etc. When trying with "user type
HDD LBA mode the
BIOS does not issue the scanning message and the display of peripherals list the
primary master as "none". The Dani driver does not seem to load,
all I get is a
line with the version number and a line that says "SYS : End of data
DaniS506.ADD" .
The "COPY IBMS506$ con:" as shown in the DANI doc just says:
There are no more files. "X:\Danis506\IBMS506$"
For those who might understand, this is the output of the dumpIDE.exe from the
DANI package:
PCI BIOS V2.10 detected, 2 PCI buses reported.
PCI Bus scan: 2 PCI buses found.
Found legacy mode VIA 571 (1106/0571 rev 06) on 0:17.1
