 There has to be another page separate from the one that displays
"none,auto,manual" for *drives*.  The one you want is for
*chipset* and specifically the ide controller itself.  Some bioses have as
many as 3 different locations, main headers or pages, not just lines. 
There can be as many as a dozen lines or more altogether tied up with IDE
drives.  Look for them all and don't miss scroll arrows.  Modern bioses are
2-4 kbits iirc, not 1/4 that like in old 486 days.
That is considerable data when it's "on the metal"
