| subject: | Vista keeps deactivating feature |
From: "Rich Gauszka" It appears some with ASUS mbs and the SIL 3114 raid chip have experienced another feature of Vista - constant deactivation - and have quickly gone through their MSDN 10 licenses from the Microsoft.public.windows.vista.general group --------------------- Subject: Windows keeps deactivating And I have SIL 3114 on-board raid chip (ASUS m/b)! I thought I installed the latest dirver. Guys please let me know if you will find proper fix for this problem - I have run out of my keys now! And it says - Windows is not genuine on my desktop. I had 10 keys from MSDN subscription. I tried to open incident for this but stuck in the middle - one department reffers me to another. And it goes in circles :- ------------------------------------- Subject - Vista activation lost after every restart That is the issue, you more than likely need an updated driver from Silicon Image. There was an issue with the SIL 3114 driver that caused the disk serial number to be reported as different each boot which could cause your issue. An updated driver should be available to address this issue. Do you have a case number where it was told to you that the processor was the problem? --- BBBS/NT v4.01 Flag-5* Origin: Barktopia BBS Site http://HarborWebs.com:8081 (1:379/45) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 5030/786 @PATH: 379/45 1 633/267 |
