For that I use since 1988 under OS/2 and eCS.
rm -rf x:\dir\*
whereas * refelects the whole directory tree to be removed.
Loot at HOBBES fur unixlike or gnufutil or fileutil.
rm - remove file and whole directory(tree)
instead to fiddle around to get
- directories empty
- attributes set gor be ready to be removeable
rm * - remove all files in the current director
lets any file with hidden, system, readonly
attribute set intact
rm -r * - remove anything in current directory
and its subdirectories
lets any file/directory with hidden, readonly,
system attribute set intact
rm -f * - remove all files in current directory
removes files with hitted, system, readonly
attribute set too.
rm -rf * like above, but removes subdirectories too
ls dir in unix syntax, more comfortable than OS2/DOS dir
ls -l - sames as dir
ls -R - dir /S
cp - copy in unix syntax
mv - move in unix syntax - but works over multiple drives
less - extended more
