Hi Alan,

I haven't used 4OS2, [but that's irrelevant to this answer] but in my 
own "Command Prompts" folder I have a whole load of customised
"Prompts" 
of all flavours, windowed and FS, all of which in turn point to other 
.cmd files in the "Command Files" folder, things like 80 x100 windows 
with different colours, with date/time or return-code [RC] returned in 
the prompt etc.

So no you don't "have to have"  4OS2 already installed to create those 
objects.
